HERITAGE FAIR
Heritage is ….
something that is passed down (inherited) from preceding generations; as a characteristic, a culture, tradition, etc.
Task
You will discover and learn about a topic that you find important to Canadian heritage. You will research your topic and present it through a written report, display and oral presentation.
Step #1 – Selecting a Topic
Find a topic that you are interested in. You must ensure that you can defend why your topic is important to Canadian Heritage. (Make sure there are enough resources and information on the topic – check with the teacher) – (HO #1)
Step #2 – Creating Questions to Guide Research
i) Brainstorm sub-topics or categories that you can research.
ii) Under each category, use the 5W’s (who, what, when, where, why, and how) to write questions about the topic.
(HO #2)
Step #3 – Researching the Topic
Research using a variety of resources (internet, books, photos, interviews, encyclopedias, magazines, videos, etc).
